steps for pouring a concrete patio?

I wish to pour a concrete skirt around the existing skirt around my inground pool...the walkway is 4' wide , I would like it 10' wide..however I cannot afford to have a professional come in to do it . The guys I work with say we can do it ourselves , all I need to do is have the gravel and concrete hauled in.I need to know the steps for doing this job right thanks in advance

I did it to my back yard and it worked out OK.
First of all,will need measure how deep your existing concrete is around the pool and dig down that deep and level the area that you want to pour concret. Different areas of the country will require that you have thicker concrete pads.
Next use wood planks to make a form. Then from your home improvement store, buy the wire mesh that goes down to help the concret from cracking.
Call a concret mixing company and have them send the truck. It is much cheaper to have the mixer bring in the concret than to mix it yourself.
You will need rubber boots, trowels, a "bullfrog", and a lot of help.

Now you need to talk to about 5 other people and listen to what they say about how to lay concret. This isn't an easy job, but doing it yourself will save you thousands.
