Whisenhunt Keeps Redbirds Self-confident In Football Betting

As star quarterback Kurt Warner has retired, NFL gambling expectations are mixed for the Arizona Cardinals and their 2010 NFL wagering probabilities. NFL betting oddsmakers will now assess if Arizona can make the playoffs for the third sequential Football gambling season with Matt Leinart at the controls.

Leinart is a past Heisman Trophy champion who was picked 10th in total by the Arizona Cardinals in the 2006 NFL Draft. He has in fact started for the Cardinals a number of times in his 4 seasons with the squad. In his first season he started eleven times, however then experienced a sprained shoulder during Week 16. For his second season, he started 5 games. During the 2008 offseason, he was handed his starting job back, but his hold on the job was tenuous as a result of a powerful performance by Warner. Warner was named the starter when Leinart threw three interceptions in a matter of minutes in the course of a preseason game. However after Warner retired at the conclusion of last year, Leinart was named the starting quarterback permanently.

There could be skepticism with bettors, buffs, and some in the press but don't count Arizona head coach Ken Whisenhunt on the list of naysayers. Whisenhunt has quickly established himself as the most successful Arizona Cardinals coach since Don Coryell of the 1970’s Cardiac Cardinals when the franchise was located in St Louis.

There are a lot of pro football buffs and odds makers who never believed they would live to see the day that the Arizona Cardinals would be thought to be a regular and constant NFL playoff betting contender, let alone a Super Bowl team as they were in 2008.

Arizona is something of a long shot with the Football preseason probabilities to make the post season but Whisenhunt remains self-assured and eager for the 2010 season and the challenge of winning lacking Warner.

“I think every season in this league is an enormous test of your ability,” said the coach. “You could have everybody back, be really excited about your season and then have a couple of injuries and suddenly you’re tested. That’s part of being a coach, but I enjoy trying to meet those challenges.” Not even close to being a “rah-rah” sort of motivator, Whisenhunt is more of a cerebral figure that analyzes any situation with astute knowledge. Arizona might be a bargain value on the board with the football probabilities, or so do plenty of odds makers feel now considering of this approach.

“Maybe it’s the engineer side of me,” Georgia Tech graduate Whisenhunt says. “I tend to think about things from all different angles; try to analyze them until I find the best solution.” Superstar wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald claims that Whisenhunt commands value from the team because of his humility and approach.

“He’s not a jerk,” said Fitzgerald. “There’s a lot of different ways guys can handle being a coach. He listens and he respects you as a man so you have no choice but to do the same thing for him.” Whisenhunt is generous in spreading it with the entire organization and doesn't take the credit for Arizona’s recent Football wagering results.

“When you have success, everybody shares in it,” the most successful Arizona Cardinals coach in a generation said.
