Is there a cheap way to ship a pool table light to Europe from Canada?

I need to ship a box 51x33x17 inches to The Neatherlands from Canada and am getting quotes from DHL, FedEx and UPS for $600+. At present I'm thinking of having it shipped from the US via FedEx for $440 but I'd like to ship it from Canada and I don't mind if it goes by boat. Any suggestions for who might offer this type of service?

You might get it cheaper shipped by boat/cargo container, but it could take months. $440 via FedEx sounds like a good price if you want to get it there quickly.
