What shirt and tie would go with a dark grey suit?

I am going to my college's leaving prom next week an I have bought a dark grey suit for it. I am just wondering what kind of colours would go well with my suit. Initially I was thinking of going for a dark purple shirt with a black tie, however I would like to go with something a bit more vibrant, something that would stand out more.
Any suggestions of any shirt and tie combinations for me??? Thanks
