Selling oriental rugs?

My parents used to sell rugs (they have a large collection of oriental rugs in their house) by teaching an adult education course at a local high school and inviting people to an open house. Since they didn't elect to teach the course this semester, they feel that they have no hope of selling rugs. I'm sure there are a lot of ways of promoting my parents rug business/collection on the internet without the course. My parents are not particuarly familiar with e-commerce, and I am only marginally familiar with it.
