Jags Outlook for 2010 Season

After compiling a 7-0 record in it's inaugural season the Jags look to continue the tradition going into 2010. This task may be easier said than done, as the Jags will compete against 10 four-year institutions in the fall.  Four of the teams that are in the process or have recently transferred to NCAA Division I-AA. South Alabama will play seven home games at Ladd-Peebles Stadium, while the road games will have the team playing in Texas, Florida and California.

The fall season will begin on Sept. 4 as the Jags will face off against Pikeville(KY.) The Bears completed the season 3-8 with several of their players recognized on the all-Mid-South Conference Division team. After a bye week the Jags will face off against Nichollis State on Sept. 18. The Nichollis State Colonels completed their season 3-8 in the Southland Conference.

The Jags will hit the road on Sept. 25 to face off against Edward Waters College in Jacksonville, Fla. Edward Waters is a NAIA instutition.  The Tigers season record last year was 1-10 led by head coach Kevin J. Clark.

The month of October will begin with a home stand as the Jags will face off against to NCAA Div. II schools. On Oct.2nd the Jags will play Kentucky Wesleyan and on Oct. 9th they will enter into battle against the Missouri Tech Miners. The Miners won four games last year and were 2-1 in conference play. Later in the month Oct. 16th the Jags will be on the road for two consecutive games. The first will be against Lamar who will be playing their first game since 1989. Next the Jags will face UC Davis, which completed the season 6-5, and they were the winner of the Great West Conference this past season.  The month of October will end with the Jags returning home for action against Georgia State on Oct.30th. The Panthers of Georgia State will be a first year program in the fall led by head coach Bill Curry.

The season will conclude with two contest against NCAA Division II teams Henderson State and Arkansas-Monticello.

The Unbeaten (16-0!) New England Patriots will host the Jacksonville Jags on Saturday night in a AFC divisional battle. League MVP Tom Brady and the Patriots have had two full weeks to rest and prepare for the divisional playoff round. Jacksonville just came off a playoff win against the Steelers in Pittsburgh.

I think the Patriots take away Jacksonville' s running game and make the Jaguars try to beat them with their Passing game . The Patriots play a Bend But Dont Break style of defense ,the Jags will get into the RedZone but will struggle getting into the EndZone and i dont care who you root for Jacksonville is not beating New England Kicking Field Goals . In Just about every Jags game that had to rely on Garrard's Passing to win the game the Jag's have lost when the teams shut down their running game .
