Bomber Jackets have not lost their appeal from the time that they were introduced during World War One

Traditional bomber jackets were originally worn by World War I pilots, technology has replaced them. Heated suits began to be used in the Second World War primarily because of the lighter weight.

Before the advent of the bomber jacket in America, pilots were forced to use what they could afford. When riding in open cockpit airplanes pilots were routinely exposed to temperatures well below freezing, therefore, the use of a very warm coat was essential.

Current bomber jackets are available in various colors and styles. They come in styles for men or for women. You can get a bomber jacket for any social situation or climate. What you will see on the market today is certainly made for this century.

Today's jackets can be made of many different materials. Shearling is made of sheep skin that the wool was never separated. Although this material will keep you warm in during the freezing cold of winter, it is also a bit heavy. This material is well suited for jackets to be worn in very cold weather. Smaller individuals may want to consider a different type of material for their jacket that is not as heavy.

You can also find synthetic bomber jackets. This material is much lighter than shearling yet is able to keep you almost as warm. You can get a bomber jacket that is made with synthetic fiber for a much lower price as well. They are not quite as warm as a traditional bomber jacket made of shearling but still quite warm. Bomber jackets made from leather are reasonably priced for the most part. Moderately priced and provides excellent protection from many different weather conditions.

One key consideration you should make when purchasing a warm winter jacket is to determine whether or not you want to purchase a water resistant jacket or not. Water resistant can be especially important when camping or hiking or of course when you are heading out for work and it's raining. Water resistant jackets come in so many different looks and styles. Water resistance is especially important when choosing a goose down jacket. Down jackets are pretty much worthless when wet because the feathers lose all their insulating capabilities when they are wet.

If you live in an area that experiences cold weather, a warm jacket is a necessity. Although it may not get that cool often where you may live, you'll be happy you have one when it does get that cold. Even if it is only for a day each year, a lightweight jacket just won't work in 30 degree climates. Maybe you'll go on a vacation to a colder place. If you visit Canada or Alaska during the summer time, a warm winter jacket is a definite necessity.

Bomber Jackets are great winter jacket selections as they are very warm and will give you a stylishness you can't find anywhere else. I would definitely recommend getting one that is water-resistant, you'll be glad you did!

Goat stung in head, has a big abcess on his neck. How do I care for him?

My pet goat got into a yellow jacket nest yesterday and got stung about his head, all of the face is swollen. Today he has a huge abcess near his throat. He eats and drinks fine. Will it run its course or should I do something else?

you can do one of 3 things..

1. let it run its course.. (not reccomended)
2. give some type of antihistamine. (benadryl, or generic benadryl) get a baby ben.. don't use one for an adult..

as long as he is eating and drinking fine he should be okay.. but it will help him with pain..

you can also give him a baby aspirin.

3. call a vet... this would not be cheap.. they are just gonna look at him.. charge you 50 bucks for a shot of dex. and to look..
