What’s Important When Choosing a Bed Frame

It’s a fact that you spend a great deal of your life in bed. Whether you are sleeping, ill, relaxing, reading a booking, talking on the telephone or having a meal, the time you spend in your bed adds up over the years. It should make perfect sense that the bed frame you choose can be just as important as the type of bed you choose, the mattress for the bed and many other factors associated with your bed.

There are a variety of sizes to choose from when it comes to bed frames. These sizes include small single bed frames, single bed frames, small double bed frames, double bed frames, large double bed frames, king size bed frames, queen size bed frames, super king size bed frames and continental bed frames. Clearly, it is important when choosing a bed frame to choose the size that coordinates to the size of your bed. The wrong size frame will simply be a no fit that has to be returned to the store.

There are quite a few bed frame brands on the market today. These include Airsprung, Birlea, Breasley, Direct Forest, Dorlux, Dreamworks, Ecofurn, Jay-Be, Joseph Furniture, Julian Bowen, Kyoto, Limelight, Serene, SH Direct, Sleepstyle, Sleepy Valley, Swanglen, Sweet Dreams and Verona. With such a wide choice range, you can set your ideas free to see which brand will best suit your choices in a frame.

Don’t assume that a larger frame will automatically cost more money than a smaller one. Because the top brands make frames in all sorts of materials, the price of your frame will not be based so much on the size but more so the type of material the frame is made out of.

Metal bed frames are the least expensive to purchase and provide a basic bed frame that sits on casters or wheels. These basic frames come in all sizes and only in the king size do they require a center support because of the size of the mattress. Wooden bed frames come in a number of different types that are similar to the metal ones but usually are fashioned with legs. Both of these types of frames are designed with end caps that allow for attachment of a headboard and footboard.

A platform frame is the only type of frame suitable for a waterbed. It is also a great choice for other styles of beds because it completely supports the mattress. Platform frames can have storage draws built into them to make up for not having an under the bed storage area.

What is most important when choosing a bed frame is to get the proper fit, to match your interest with your budget and to choose a frame that will compliment your headboard and footboard if you have them. Not all bed frames are created alike or equal and taking the time to research your preferences can make all the difference in the world when you’re ready to choose the best frame for your bed.
