Is it me or is rugby like street football?

I don't know much about rugby considering i'm a football player, but i was watching rugby on comcast and it reminds me of street football. They pitch the ball to eachother and run without equipment or anything and just run to score.

Do you think they're similar or completely different.

They are similar in concept but different in action.

You see the first difference is there is none of that padding that those big babies wear in American Football.

Second, American Football is made up of a lot of set plays that take like an hour to change team. In other words they play for about 20 seconds then spend the next 15 minutes, changing teams. Rugby is a lot more flowing with less set plays and only one team.

Next in Rugby you cant tackle anyone who doesn't have the ball.

Finally you also cant throw the ball forward.
