have you ever been harassed?

have you ever been harassed wearing your cities rivals apparel? i wore my david wright mets jersey tonight and a few people called me "pondscum", and one came up to me to say it. i was like, you ignorant moron. the cardinals call mets pondscum (happened when the rivalry in the 80s got heated. but i mean, kids who werent even born then were calling me it. i just wanted to hit them, but became the better man lol.

anyone else have problems like this?

I was in Atlanta wearing my Pirates jersey. (Yes, the Pirates).

I'm sitting on the aisle seat and this 12 or 13 year old kid is walking up, sees the jersey and hat and says something highly intelligent and insightful like "Hey, dude, the Pirates suck".

Now, let's be honest, he is exactly right about that but, still. is that called for? No. So, I just ignore him.

He comes back down the aisle from buying his Beanie Bear or whatever and as he passes by me again he say the same thing - "dude, the Pirates suck".

Now, I'm a little ticked. But what can I do? I'm 20 years older than this kid. I actually start thinking of going down to his seat and smacking his father in the mouth.

A few innings later, the kid comes up the aisle and says the same daggone thing again! I really want to ring this kid's neck! Unfortunately, no court would acquit me.

I say back to him "You have a lot of class, kid. Good luck with that attitude when you go to Juvie."

Not the greatest line - I admit - but it was all I could come up with at the time. The next time he walked by me, he didn't say a word. I thought for sure he would go crying to his dad and, frankly, I was ready to pop the kid's dad at first provocation. I had taken enough from the kid, the dad was not getting away with anything.

Nothing.

Neither the kid nor anybody from his family said anything to me the rest of the game. Plus, the Pirates actually won that day! It turned out to be a good day.
