Dallas Cowboys
The Dallas Cowboys have often been referred to as "America's Team" and it's pretty easy to see why. They clearly have the most number of fans among all NFL teams, thanks to their storied history and their phalanx of great players.
The Cowboys, who currently play in the suburb of Irving in Dallas, Texas, have the most Super Bowl appearances with eight. They also hold the record for the most Super Bowl championships in the NFL with five, a record that they share with the Pittsburgh Steelers and the San Francisco 49ers. Before the NFL and AFL merged, the Cowboys reached the NFL championship game twice.
Dallas also became the first NFL team to win three super bowls in four years. The only other team to achieve this feat are the New England Patriots. In addition, the Cowboys have also made it to the NFL playoffs the most times among all teams, a total of 27 times as of 2004. In that span, they have also won 32 of 54 postseason games. Those 54 games are also an NFL record for most playoffs games played.
They also hold the NFL records for the longest streak of consecutive winning seasons with 20, which they set from 1966 to 1985, as well as the longest streaks of winning seasons with at least 10 games, which stands at 24.
Clearly, the Cowboys are one of the winningest and most successful NFL teams in league history.
Obviously, success on the field has also translated into success in terms on earnings and profitability. The prestigious Forbes magazine estimates that the Cowboys are worth about $1.1 billion, a level that makes them among the most financially valuable football teams as well as professional teams in any sport in North America.
The Cowboys started out as an expansion team in the NFL in the 1960 season and they've certainly come a long way since. By 2009, the Cowboys will be moving into a brand new stadium in Arlington.

It amuses me on how the dallas cowboys are america's team. I know a broadcaster made a comment calling them america's team. If you are america's team you have to have titles,players,history,inovated the nfl, pop culture idenity. Like the Packers,Bears,Steelers,Eagles.
It was an excutive at NFl films in 1979 that coined that phrase. At the time they were inovative. They were the first to use computers in scouting, Tom Landry reintroduced the Shotgun formation that was abandon for years at the time but still used today. The "flex" defense was inovative but was a "stop the run first" type of D, which doesn't work in todays game. The Cheerleaders were another Cowboy inovation.
As for titles, they have 5, they've been to the most Super Bowls.
As a oppose to the Eagles, no SB wins and the Bears have one?
As for the term "America's Team" it was appropriate in the way it was originally intended. But it wasn't a term that was suppose to label them forever!
As a Cowboy fan, I think the only team that truly deserves that label are the 1980 Olympic Hockey team!
