Carpet Flooring - What is it?

A carpet is a textile floor covering consisting of two layers; the upper layer is the pile which is attached to the lower layer which makes the back of carpet. Pile is usually made of wool or other fibers.

People use carpets to get the feeling of warmth and also to make their sitting area comfortable. Besides these practical features, a carpet also helps to enhance the overall look of the room. When you think about furnishing your room, carpets are the first thing that pops in your mind as carpets give a complete look to your room. Carpet allows you to stretch out easily anywhere you want and pets also love carpets because they are so comfy to lie on.

When buying a carpet you will be given plenty of choices as there are many varieties, designs, qualities, and fibers of carpets out there. Price is also an important factor to consider while purchasing carpets. You may not want to spend much on a carpet and you certainly do not want a cheap carpet that will live for only a few months.

So, you have to be very careful and you should consider all the different options so that you can select the best thing for your home. The different types of carpets include woven, needle felt, knotted, tufted, and some others. The making of all these types makes them different from one another and all these varieties are one of their kinds.

Proper installation of carpet is also very important. A very attractive and costly carpet may spoil the look of your room if it is not of right size and is not properly installed.

How often do you clean your carpet, and how do you maintain your pergo Floors?

I recently purchased a new home, and put in new carpeting and pergo flooring. What is the best way to clean pergo floors, and how often do you have your carpeting professionally cleaned?

I know how often one cleans depends on the family and amount of traffic, but I'm just curious. In the past, I've cleaned my carpeting every 6 months. Kiki

Pergo is easy to maintain. Just sweep when its dusty and mop once a week. As for carpeting we personally get ours cleaned every 2 or so months, but we have pets, and alot of traffic in certain areas.
