The Carolina Panthers are 40-1 underdogs in football wagering to win the Super Bowl. They are intending that quarterback Matt Moore is set to be a full-time starter but if not, they've got rookie quarterback Jimmy Clausen waiting in the wings. Clausen could be the long-term answer for the Carolina Panthers and it's even feasible he may impact NFL football wagering odds this season.

Football wagering probabilities are unstable on Carolina since the squad is great one week and horrible the next. They were 8-8 last season and that's precisely the type of team they've been. Perhaps Clausen will eventually win the job and alter the perception of the Panthers. Carolina brought him in to a four-year deal that includes $2.53 million in guarantees.

Although others were not as high on the former Notre Dame star, some draft experts ranked Clausen as a 1st round pick in the NFL Draft. Some believed he would be a top ten pick, but apparently his cocky attitude turned off a few of the teams looking at him. Clausen should get his chance in Carolina to gain the starting job. Moore did play well last season late in the year but he doesn't have a large amount of expertise. Clausen will be starting at Carolina before the season is over if he's the excellent quarterback that some individuals predicted.

Carolina was 9-7 last season against the NFL wagering odds. For most of last year, the Panthers actually were not a very excellent team. They had to win their final three games of the season to finish at .500 straight up. It is really tough to predict how they will do the next year when a team wins late in the season to cover up a poor year. As they are genuinely a difficult squad to handicap in 2010 NFL odds, that is the case with Carolina.

The Carolina Panthers had their first preseason match on Thursday evening when they played vs the Ravens. Matt Moore was the projected starting quarterback for the competition, and Clausen came in to relieve him. Moore exceeded expectations in the course of the game, but after the way Clausen competed, it might not be safe to say that the quarterback job is in his pocket any longer. Clausen didn’t compete like a typical rookie. He appeared at ease, confident, and in charge. He kept calm and made great decisions throughout his time in the competition, and he appeared to have a great grasp of the offense. It may not be long before Clausen has more of an influence on the NFL wagering.
