Choosing the ideal football kits

Football is still today the most popular and appreciated sport in the world. It is one of the most active and invigorating sports played all over the world, attracting millions of fans every week in the fields and stadiums. Whether you are an amateur player or an avid football fan, buying full football kits is mandatory. When referring to kits though, we do not mean a jersey or pants only. The well organized kit is much more complicated and fascinating than that; the jersey might be the focal point of a collection, but the small details make the difference.

Football kits refer to the entire apparel which is needed when playing football. It is worn by athletes, both amateurs and professionals, so as to facilitate their game and make them feel more comfortable and at ease while playing. The standard equipment, along with optional items, are the things that make the difference when it comes to a well appointed kit. Thankfully, the rules of the game do not limit the selection of items and apparel that much, thus, players and teams can choose among great variety of designs and styles. The only rule to be obeyed religiously is the avoidance of unsafe and dangerous items; football is a very physical sport, thus, athletes and teammates can be easily injured if safety measures are not strictly followed.

What do football kits include? The basic items that compound a soccer kit are the shirt, shorts, socks, leg protectors and football shoes. The entire team wears the same colors and designs, with the exception of the goalkeeper who is the only one to wear something distinctively different. The jersey of a goalkeeper can be grey, black, green or whatever the team chooses and usually bears the number one. The kit also refers to other sport officials, such as the referee and linesmen, who have their own set of apparel for the games. The referees wear some combination of black, with other colors such as yellow or red - with stripes or not.

Football kits can also include several optional items, such as wristbands, leg warmers, body warmers and head bands. Some players like to personalize their look, benefiting from the relatively loose rules in clothing. You can see some players wearing the regular uniform and black tights in winter; some players do not like wearing short sleeves, while others have always some wristband or even head protectors and gloves. These items do not belong to the standard equipment and they can be rarely found in the market for fans, but they are quite useful to players; moreover, some of them add a personal note to the appearance of the team or individual player.

The football kits should be chosen based on several factors; one of them is of course the budget, but most important is the durability and quality of the apparel. Weather is something to be considered as well; light and airy clothes for summer are necessary, while warm clothes that eliminate odors and moist are necessary during winter months. Comfort and safety are also important factors.
