World Cup Fever – Explosion Expected in Outdoor LCD TV’s

With next year’s soccer World Cup expecting to attract an accumulative television audience of over 26 billion people, many of whom will be watching the matches in public areas such as bars, pubs, restaurants, beer gardens or town squares.

Why are losing football teams angry about the winning teams "running up the score"?

Do basketball, baseball teams, etc., stop playing their best game so that the other team is'nt embarrassed? The Dolphins said that the Patriots did that just to humiliate them.
The only ones that benefit by " adjusting" the score is the bookies

Professional athletes shouldn't be crybabies. They shouldn't expect some kind of "mercy rule" that might be appropriate for elementary school children. They should expect their opponents to play hard for the entire game. If your team is up by a lopsided score, you might want to rest your starters and play guys from your bench, but there's no reason to stop playing all-out. Go for the short yardage on a fourth down. Bunt and steal bases. If the losing team whines about it, they don't belong in the major leagues.
